Jason has worked in the K-12 environment for close to 20 years--First as a teacher focused on creating an environment beyond brick and mortar learning. Jason spent many years following by supporting school administrators across California with effective ways to leverage technology to lead 21st century schools as part of the statewide Technology Information Center for Administrative Leadership (TICAL) project as well training teachers in transformative practices in their classroom. Jason spent 3-years in leading curriculum and technology programs in a small school district in the Silicon Valley. Currently, Jason is leading Technology, Innovation, and Communication at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education as the Chief Technology & Innovation Officer is former president of the Board of CUE, INC. Board of Directors – a non-profit focused on inspiring innovation in education. Jason is Google Certified Trainer and Google Certified Innovator. He is also certified trainer in the Leading Edge Certification program and helped develop the curriculum for the program. Follow him @jborgen.

Stephanie Sumarna has been in education for more than 11 years. She started as a middle school CORE teacher in Gilroy, teaching an integrated course on English Language Arts and Social Studies. From there, she went on to work as both an upper and lower elementary teacher. She joined the Santa Cruz COE team in 2020. Her life as an educator changed when she attended her first CUE Conference in the Spring of 2014. She has always been passionate about utilizing EdTech and innovative teaching practices to support her students, but it was at this conference that she realized there was a bigger world of like minded educators. She implemented Genius Hour in her third grade classroom at Bonny Doon Elementary School right away and never looked back. At the Santa Cruz County Office of Education she is realizing her dream of building networks within her community to foster that same excitement for what school could be. Stephanie works with both the Educational Services and Tech+ Teams to help bridge curriculum and technology as an EdTech and Innovation Coach. Rowland Baker has been recognized for his leadership in the United States and Internationally with his work in education, innovation, leadership and technology. He has served public education for over forty years, and has been awarded for his work as a teacher, principal, director of technology and assistant superintendent for over 45,000 students. He is one of a handful of educators who was requested to present to White House Staff during the Obama Administration, and was asked to be at the White House when President Obama signed the new Every Student Succeeds Act in December of 2015. Geoff Belleau has 25 years of experience as a high-school, middle-school, and elementary-school educator. Previously he was a county office administrator, serving as program manager to coordinate instructional technology projects with district IT administrators and working with schools and districts on technology integration and professional development. He has presented at several state and national education technology conferences and is a member of the Technology Information Center for Administrative Leadership Cadre. Joe Marquez is an enthusiastic leader in education technology and the Director of Academic Innovation for CUE. His innovating spirit, outgoing attitude and outrageous personality has earned him the coveted titles of Certified Google Innovator, Certified Google Trainer, Common Sense Ambassador, Apple Teacher, and Microsoft Innovative Educator. Joe is an adjunct Professor for the Fresno Pacific University Educational Technology Master's Program and guest instructor for the Fresno State Teacher Track Academy and Teachers Pathway T.A.C.O.S (Technology, Aerospace, and Collaboration Opportunities in STEM) Summer Institute. Katherine Goyette has been an educator in California’s Central Valley for nearly twenty years and is the author of The Complete EdTech Coach: An Organic Approach to Supporting Digital Learning. She inspires educators across the globe via speaking engagements, consulting services, and content creation. Katherine serves as the Educational Technology & Integrated Studies Consultant for a county office in California where she engages teachers, coaches, and administrators in active professional learning grounded in solid pedagogy regarding topics including technology integration in the classroom, project-based learning, interdisciplinary learning, computer science integration, social emotional learning, and universal design for learning.
